Filer defeated Kimberly 8- 7 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at 5 with Filer batting in the bottom of the fifth when Kailey Brown doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Filer built a five-run lead by the third inning and held off Kimberly’s charge. Kimberly scored five runs in the failed come back on a walk by Emma Burgoyne , a double by J Stewart, and a triple by Haley Chapa.
Filer got on the board in the first inning when Sophia Bartholomew tripled scoring two runs.
Filer scored three runs in the third inning. Fallon Stoddard and McCarty Stoddard all drove in runs in the frame.
Sammy Taylor led the Wildcats to victory in the circle. She lasted 5 + 1/3 Innings, allowing 7 hits and six runs while striking out seven and walking one. Fallon Cassidy pitched and relief. And McCarty Stoddard entered the game out of the bullpen to record the last three outs and earn the save.
Presley Lyman took the loss for Kimberly. She allowed 13 hits and eight runs over six Innings walking one.

Filer saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Bartholomew, Taylor, Stoddard and Marhi Carter all had multiple hits for the Wildcats.
