McCarty Stoddard showed timely hitting on Tuesday, driving in five on three hits to lead Wildcats past Sugar-Salem 16-6 on Tuesday. Stoddard drove in runs on a triple in the first, a double in the fourth, and a home run in the fifth.
Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Wildcats collected 14 hits and Sugar-Salem had four.
Wildcats got things moving in the first inning. Stoddard tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring Sami.
Wildcats scored five runs in the fourth inning. Stoddard, Nikaela Higley, Reegan Carter, and Kamrin Barnes all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Stoddard earned the win for Wildcats. The pitcher went five innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out four.
Pocock lasted four innings, allowing 13 hits and 15 runs while striking out four
Wildcats tallied one home run on the day. Stoddard went yard in the fifth inning.
Wildcats collected 14 hits on the day. Stoddard, Sami Taylor, Jasmine Earl, and Gracie Brooks all collected multiple hits for Wildcats.
Taylor and Stoddard each managed three hits to lead Wildcats. Wildcats tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Higley led the way with two.
